Molecular Boronic Acid-Based Saccharide Sensors

چکیده

Boronic acids can reversibly bind diols, a molecular feature that is ubiquitous within saccharides, leading to their use in the design and implementation of sensors for numerous saccharide species. There growing understanding importance saccharides many biological processes systems; while or carbohydrate sensing medicine most often associated with detection glucose diabetes patients, have proven be relevant range disease states. Herein relevance biomedical applications explored, this review seeks outline how complexity presents challenge development selective describes efforts been made understand underpinning fluorescence binding mechanisms these systems, before outlining examples researchers used knowledge develop ever more receptors.

Wavelength-ratiometric near-physiological pH sensors based on 6-aminoquinolinium boronic acid probes.

We describe the pH response of a set of isomeric water-soluble fluorescent probes based on both the 6-aminoquinolinium and boronic acid moieties. These probes show spectral shifts and intensity changes with pH, in a wavelength-ratiometric and colorimetric manner. Subsequently, changes in pH can readily be determined around the physiological level. Although boronic acid containing probes are kno...

Boronic acid and boronic ester containing polyoxometalates.

Three organoboron functionalized polyoxometalates have been synthesized using Schiff base chemistry including a boronic acid, its methyl ester and its trimethylene glycol ester. The compounds have been characterized in the solid state by single crystal diffraction (XRD), FT-IR and elemental analysis and in solution using 1H NMR spectroscopy.

(2,4-Dipropoxyphenyl)boronic acid

In the crystal, the title compound, C(12)H(19)BO(4), exists as a centrosymmetric O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded dimer. Dimers are linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating an infinite zigzag chain oriented parallel to [1[Formula: see text]1]. The chains are assembled, giving sheets aligned parallel to (21[Formula: see text]) and inter-connected by weak C-H⋯π inter-actions, producing a three-dimensiona...

(4-Carbamoylphenyl)boronic acid

In the title compound, C(7)H(8)BNO(3), the mol-ecule lies on an inversion center leading to a statistical disorder of the B(OH)(2) and CONH(2) groups. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming sheets parallel to the bc plane. The B(OH)(2) and CONH(2) groups are twisted out of the mean plane of the benzene ring by 23.9 (5) and 24.6 (6)°, respectiv...
